Mizz Christina’s Review:

For someone who never read the book, but knew a couple of things about the story going into it, this movie truly did live up to the hype and I think it’s a REALLY good movie. The Great Gatsby is fun and full of a dangerously sinful world. A world where money is everything, and if you are lucky to be in the right circle of friends, life is FABULOUS. The party scenes are CRAZY; like something right out of a night of partying in a Vegas club. A night where everyone is drinking too much, and the men are throwing money into the crowd and everyone is leaving with a different person than whom they got there with. Every scene has Baz written all over it. He did a magnificent job with the scenes. Adding the modern music with some old twists was especially interesting, that made the movie SO much better (Just listen to the soundtrack). The costumes hit every mark, from the guy’s suits to Carrie’s every dress and headpieces. Every actor had me believing in their characters. I do wish I would have seen a more selfish/bratty side of Carrie’s Daisy, her character left me a little empty. I didn’t want to see a victim in Daisy, especially because I had heard she was a lot more of a selfish and conniving individual in the book. I’ve never been a huge Toby fan, but this movie changed my opinion of him. He really had me believing his innocent inexperienced Carroway. AND LEO, Leo, Leo, Leo….. What a beautiful man! He had me fall in love with him all over again. If only real men truly loved a single woman in that capacity. Great movie to go see on the big screen (and in 3D for that matter), if not for just the music, this movie is full of GREAT acting (By ALL not just the ones I mentioned), AWESOME VISUAL scenes, lively upbeat music, and just a great story PERIOD.
