Cultural fusion – Jewish Hymn

on June 7, 2013

One of the advantages of living in Los Angles, is that we get to enjoy and learn about many different cultures. Learning about other cultures enriches our own and helps us appreciate one another.

One of the ways in which we learn about others is by listening to their music. A few months ago I had the opportunity to hear one of the coolest songs I have heard. The song is called “Mi Eloha” by a band named Elah.

Elah is a band made up by 4 members: Agustín, Charly, Gaby and Tomås. Their spanish rock CD shares a positive message to those who listen to it. “Mi Eloha” is track number 8 on their álbum and it is a Jewish hymn, the son is a work of art which combines traditional and modern elements of music. One being tradiditional Hebrew with hard core rock. It is a beautiful arrangement made by Holger Fath  and interpreter by Gaby. A young Latina with a wonderful voice.

I can write a long blog but I really want to share this beautiful song with all of you and I hope you enjoy it.
